03BBMET Complex for Children diocesan cultural educational center and a chapel St. Apostles Cyril and Methodius
Client: Diocese of Varna and Velikipreslav

A cultural and educational center for children plays a significant role in the cityscape. The public access requires situation in the relatively peaceful South-east corner of the plot. Its volumes valorize the courtyard space on the north. Building line and the volume is conformed with the volumes of the neighboring buildings – architectural monuments: Diocese of Varna designed by arch. P. Momchilov and arch. H.  Kovachevski in the beginning of the century, and the building of “Matroski” club. The designed silhouettes and sample plans are the result of a work on monolith, open only in the area of the chapel (eastern facade of the square) thus communicating with the cathedral “St.  Bogorodica”.
Natural stone for the walls, aims to create a balanced environment with the significant neighboring buildings. The facades are a mineral composition framed in concrete. A research has been made on a modern and intriguing architectural language.
